4. Objectives of CCTV Use
The purpose of CCTV use includes, but is not limited to:
- protecting drivers, passengers and property;
- deterring and detecting criminal activity or misconduct;
- providing evidence for resolving disputes or legal matters; and
- supporting law enforcement and regulatory investigations.
5. System Features
Dual-Camera Recording
- Internal Camera: monitors activities inside the vehicle to promote safety.

Automatic Deletion
Recordings are normally automatically deleted after 48 hours unless flagged for investigation. Please request preservation as soon as possible and within 48 hours where possible, because overwritten footage cannot be retrieved. This is a preservation timeframe and does not limit statutory data-protection rights.

Only authorised personnel may access recordings, for legitimate purposes such as dispute resolution, investigation of incidents, or compliance with law enforcement requests.
6. Compliance with Legislation
Ammar Cabs Ltd. complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including:
- UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 — ensuring lawful, fair and transparent data processing;

- the ICO Code of Practice — operating CCTV in accordance with ICO guidelines for lawful use.
7. Data Handling and Privacy
Signage
Clear and visible signage is displayed in all vehicles, informing passengers that CCTV is in operation.
Data Security
All recordings are encrypted and stored securely. Access is strictly limited to authorised personnel.
Access Requests
- Individuals have the right to request access to footage involving them under the UK GDPR.
- Requests must be made in writing, include proof of identity, and specify the date and approximate time of the recording.
- Access will only be granted if the request complies with data protection law and does not compromise the privacy of others.
Retention Period
Recordings not flagged for investigation are automatically deleted after 48 hours. Flagged footage may be retained for the duration of the investigation or as required by law.
8. Responsibilities

10. Non-Compliance and Misuse
Unauthorised access, tampering, or misuse of the CCTV system or recordings is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts, or legal proceedings.
